Boiling water straight out of the kettle should do it, I used to have to clean my UCO copy a lot doing this.

I use really hot water, too hot to put my hand in, for the glass part of my UCO lantern. Drop it in, leave a few moments, take out and dry with kitchen roll...works for me!

Would agree with the boiling water, however once you take the glass away from the boiling water a thin grimy layer of wax still remains.

When out I find that it's usually cold enough at night that the wax sets hard and can just be broken off cleanly.
When I get home I do what Wayland suggests and use the fairy :D

cheers,
Toddy
