i dont think they have a function mate (do they need one ) just a bit of fun isnt it as well as helping to hone your carving skills..

Thanks Tomtom, exactly the reason i carved the axes, a very good way of practicing your carving skills and one you can do around the camp fire or sitting in your tent on a cold winters night.
Experimentation with materials is always a good thing, taking wood carving to an extreme can only help you realise the limitations of the material and improve your skills for carving other items like spoons or bowls......... keeps the mind active as well........cant see any harm in that :lol:
