Hi folks..I'm pretty sure those small leather chi-com pouches are used to hold goggles that a pilot or tanker would use..they turned up a few years ago on the U.S. surplus market as goggle pouches...vince g. 11B Inf.

I've got one of these and use it for my compass. Cracking bit of kit for the cash!! Mine needed a quick clean and wax and was good to go.
