Can you identify this worm type thing swimming in the river?

so i was in the woods with the dog today and i saw this strange worm swimming like a snake in the river its no more than 2 to 3mm thick and about 5-7 inches long.. its hard to see for the light but if you can make it out enough, what on earth is it, i freaked out when my dog went to go in the water lol

id say a horsehair worm google gordian worm it looks to thin for an eel and at that thinness they would still be glass like elvers.
