Hi I've found this pic on the old "show me your shelter thread",
I'd been looking for this Camo design for ages but couldn't remember what it was called or where it's from:confused:

I think it's Stuart in the sleeping bag;)

I remember seeing a picture of a huge dome tent and pods of the same Camo, that could attach to it and a Poncho or Tarp.
Obviously designed for use around rocks. I don't think it's military (perhaps a trial)

It was i think from a mountainous European country like Italy/Austria/Swiss

Any Ideas?

Just found a picture of it it says it's called Mountain camouflage and it seems to be from Norway.

still looking though

this is the tent I wanted to find, a flippin good idea!(pancake pun!)

And from a distance it just looks like a pile of rock! in the shape of an octopus..with 6 legs (a hexapus?? )

Very well thought out system, i like the way theres even space for a dog!

This shows how adaptable it is each pod can be used on it's own or extended indefinitly

One of the "pods" on it's own as a one/two man tent

a brilliant idea shame you can't get stuff like it over here:(

I wonder what the point (for the military, anyway) of camouflage patterns is these days? It only take a thermal imaging camera and you're caught/done anyway? Surely, you can't still hide a soldier from another soldier now with just patterns? Just idle thoughts...

Nice tent, Richards. Looks a bit big for us bushy type??

most of todays conflicts seem to be Soldier (of a country) against terrorist, freedom fighter, call them what you will ,who probably dont have access to infa red/or thermal sensing etc, i wouldnt say average camo stops you being seen just breaks up your shape/blends you in to background, etc to make it harder to get off a good shot at you,
back to thread is this then a Norwegian civy kit specifically for Mountainous regions?
