Tesco's are selling the plastic wine glasses, so much nicer than a mug when having a tot of vin.

Herbs
Spices/curry paste
Salt and pepper of course
Ketchup tomato
Sauce brown (Daddies of course)
Mustard
Soy sauce
Cider Vinegar
Lemon Juice
Olive oil
Tinned pate, nice smeared on steak or chops
Tomato purée
Dried Mushrooms
Lentils
Corn flour
Parmesan cheese
Frank Cooper's oxford marmalade (worth the extra money)
Gentleman's Relish
Tinned Anchovies
Mint sauce

Basics like this really help at camp.

I sometimes carry a cutting board (birch ply slab), some spices (anything from pepper by way of chili pepper, ginger and poudre fort to garam masala), often also some olive oil and balsamic vinegar. And tea and a filter spoon. Apart from that a wooden spoon, a belt knife and a kuksa.

Mesquite

It is what it is.

Small bottle of washing up liquid CLEARLY marked... nowt worse that using it for cooking and it's amazing how similar it looks to olive oil in the dark

Also some basic washing gear... pan scourer, dish brush (with handle cut off), tea towel.

It depends what you plan to / are able to cook Drew.

I tend to eat the same sort of stuff outdoors (basecamping) that I do at home, so my box reflects this.

These days I have two boxes, 1 for cooking gear and one for food staples...I'll try to get some pictures tonight when I get back from work if you like?

We made a box from plans here http://www.blueskykitchen.com/Grubby_One.html

Holds the frypan, pans, pots, KFS, plates, cups x4, chopping board etc as well as most of the dry food, rest of the food is in a blue box, makes a nice surface for the burner as well... you do need a trailer however...
