Spent the day down the lakes with Whittler Kev. Thanks for coming down Kev, had a fantastic day. I will be more prepared next time. Luckily Kev brought lots of coffee for both of us and kept me well hydrated. Kev showed off a nice homemade tarp from some ripstop he bought. Nice and light, packed down really well so you could carry it anywhere without any hassle. My 3X3 DD Tarp was massive and heavy in comparison.
I have never got on with tarps. I had one years ago. First time I put it up I got covered in wood ants as I put it right over a nest. Lesson learned and shortly after I sold the tarp. Been sleeping in tents ever since but don't like not being able to see out. They are claustrophobic too so I wanted to try tarps again.
I bought another tarp and was not getting on with it at all. It kept bunching up in the middle and looked rubbish. So I hoped Kev could help. He put me right with the tarp and now I'm sorted, thanks for that Kev. Meetups are great for a bit of skill sharing and you can learn loads so I recommend them!
I collected the memory card for the Trail Camera on friday evening:

A gorgeous Fox. Look at the face, pure wilderness.
