Hi all,

One of the issue with using land is liability and insurance cover. Has anybody got insurance cover for Bushcraft?

One of the ways I notice is that some schools get you sign a wavier of liability, but his probably does not impress a land owner who gets a tree burned down!

Your thoughts and solutions are appreciated.

Hmmm not sure how it would stand up if something were to go wrong but i have BASC insurence for my shooting activities.
Having had a good look at the cover it provides full third party insurence for:
Shooting
Conservation
Fishing
Ferreting
Hawking
Falconry
Archery

All this is for recreational activities only

I wonder if "bushy" activities would be covered under the "conservation" tag?

Insurance.

Has anyone got camping or hill walking policy? My broker is looking but it helps if there is an 'out door activities' policy already existing that they can bolt 'bush craft' bits onto. The big thing is personal liability from fires I would think.

So heads together chaps, any insurance cover thats similar, sameish etc?

I now have a quote for 'Bushcraft' from our insurers. I think very reasonable. It is within the 28 day rule and is extendable. It has certain clauses re food, minors, numbers, first aid and time periods but is a comprehensive start.
I am afraid one of my recent posts may have been a little forthright and perhaps taken as offensive. Sometimes I am taken like that! This just me speaking honestly.

I have found a company that will cover bushcraft in the UK. I will let you all know how it works out, prices etc.

Some people will wonder why I have bothered with insurance. The answer is, its the thing you can tell a land owner that may make a differance. If some one wants to borrow your car and you are of two minds and they say I have fully comp insurance so if it gets totaled my guys will pay, you are more inclined to lend. Some people will say well, I just do what I do, others would like resonable access to land. So lets see if this works!

I have insurance as an instructor, but I would be very interested in insurance for the average bod on the street (or should that be in the wood).... alot of students have asked about this, so please keep us informed.
