I quite like mah Jong. I found it makes my observation and memory skills better as you have to remember where the tiles are you might need a couple of moves ahead. It's also far too addictive!

I used to play mahjong every weekend for a couple of years.
I’m carp at strategy games, useless at chess etc but did quite well with a strategy game called Rubic’s Illusion. It’s a version of “Four in a row” but half the board is a reflection in a mirror. Pieces might be your colour on both sides, yours on one side and your opponents on the other or both colours on one or both sides.
You build rows on the board and in the mirror. Reflected pieces are as valid as real ones. You can still buy a set for less than a tenner.
I enjoy correspondence and debate to stretch my thinking. Making stuff and solving problems while making stuff works too.

Simple but not necessarily easy.
Two motorway junctions - A and B are 113 miles apart.
You travel from A to B at an average of 30mph.
How fast must your return journey (B to A) be in order to average 60mph for the round trip?
