I recently titled my first thread as possibly my first mistake - in this field anyway - but on reflection it could have been several years ago at the very beginning of my extended mid-life crisis (I intend to make it last until I shuffle off my mortal ;)).

To the point - I purchased a Maxam knife on ebay (no, let me finish) with the sole task in mind of extracting arrows from target stands. Now either I didn't read it properly or the listing wasn't clear on the actual size of this thing and I ended up with a knife with a blade length of what I intended to be overall length! Consequently it has been pretty much hidden away ever since. Now as my interests broaden I can see a potential for it at last - but, big question and point of all this - is it worth bothering with or is it a piece of junk best used as a very large letter opener for very large letters?

Cheers

Terry

Are you able to remove the handle, It looks like bolts holding it on, why dont you make a lovely handle for it? I don't see why not, you don't have to use it, just ad mire your handy work, and audition for crocodile dundee 12!

I think theres a rambo thread on here( I do not mean that in ridicule) Where JohnathanD posted some great pics of the knive that were made for the film and subsequent collectors, beutiful wood handles with metal guard and pommle, they are great looking knives. just for inspiration.
