Can anyone recommend a good place to get british army ration packs from? Have tried them before and thought they were good, but Ive been usin dehydrated meals recently to save weight but find they arent that nice and tend to put too much/not enough water in. So have decided to go back to rat packs but Im having trouble finding them cheaply, best Ive found so far is £14.61 each plus postage, which is pretty steep due to weight. Im looking at getting 4 for a trip but Im looking at £74 in total which is a bit too much.

Just wondered where everybody gets theirs or if someone can recommend a good place to try?

Thanks for the replies, theyre all much cheaper than Ive seen. Postage is going to be steep wherever I get them from but thats to be expected with the weight.

How good are these guys to deal with?

My Explorer scouts have requested a camp using MRE packs, and the price seems reasonable from these guys. Now, normally with things like this, I like to give the shop a call, but when looking at the telephone number, something doesn't sit right. 033 0001 XXXX

I have blanked part of it out, as it's not fair on the company to have the number posted on a forum. Plus, they could be perfectly legit, and I am worrying for no reason!

03 numbers were introduced by Ofcom as a non-geographic alternative to chargeable 08 numbers such as 0870. Calls to 03 numbers cost the same as calls to standard geographic numbers (i.e. those beginning 01 or 02).
Numberstore offers numbers which are exclusively available to UK charities and non-profit organisations (0300) and 0330 numbers, which can be used by any organisation looking for a non-geographic alternative to 08 numbers.
Unlike any other non geographic number range, calls to 03 numbers must also be included in any inclusive call minute packages or discount schemes offered by fixed and mobile network operators and from payphones. Revenue sharing is specifically disallowed on 03 numbers..

I did wonder that too Southey.

I need to be a bit careful here, as this is food I am providing to my Explorer Scouts, so need to make sure that they are 100% legit. Based on that, I think I'll go with getting them from the bushcraft store, who are licensed by vestey as a supplier.

PS thanks for the number info widu.
