Looks like some interesting crags to have a play on. Great day out.

Every cliff face had a set of stainless steel bolts up it, I've no idea how they put them in, they seem too far apart to hang off the one below and drill a new hole ?
or do they do the route from the top down ? with what a battery drill and expansion bolts or epoxied in ?

where you see those bolts it's a type of climbing called ''sport climbing'', the bolts are put in by abseiling from the top, then when the climber does the route he clips into each one with a quickdraw (carabiner on each end on short sling) for protection. Giggleswick is quite a popular area for ''sport'' climbing (it's different to what is called ''traditional'' climbing).

Another fine post, I like your style.

I like to get out hiking and canoeing with my daughter... but ultimately, we are just picnicers!!

Great food and some lovely landscapes :)

Thanks for sharing

That looks a fun day.

Forest dweller, there are extensive caves in Korea but Im not sure where.

(In a limestone area,obviously.)

So drill a hole - eye bolt in - tighten with spanner ? wonder if you can then take them back out ?
I'm thinking they could be used to hang a 'Hammock' under an overhang or between boulders :thinkerg:

looks like you had a good time:D..... .wish I'd find a cave in the mountains here but not such luck for me.....

the stone on top of a moai is called ""pukao""

:beerchug: for that x2 new words moai instead of Easter island head and pukao instead of it's hat !
24_zpsrdw6mm64.jpg~original

pukao sounds like pukka "genuine" or "very good"

Climbers use some things that look like a big nut on a short wire stop, for jamming in nooks and crannies. If they'r good enough to hang a body off, they should be ok with a hammock.

Providing there's x2 nooks/crannies 10' apart at the right height :dunno:
I can think of quite a few sheltered rocky places that would be hard for tent or tarp
but with a couple of 'bolts' ideal for a hammock set up :beerchug: Danny

Great report as usual have a look at this about Sewels cave http://cag.bcra.org.uk/styled-9/photos/
It's not a great idea to put bolt into rocks (although they would hold a hammock easily) sports climbing and the areas that are bolted are closely negotiated with the land owners and chipping, drilling and bolting of rock or boulders is considered as damage done outside those areas or without prior consent.
