Hi All
browsing on ebay the other day and came across this
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/FISHING-HUNTI...0290869QQihZ018QQcategoryZ16042QQcmdZViewItem
For that price i thought i'd get one and see what it was like.
Well it arrived this morning and as far as i can tell it appears to be some version of a Frost/Eriksson and a bit of a bargain.

I thought i'd just let everyone know. Thought they may be of interest to scout leaders and the like.

I should point out though that the ebay seller does appear to have some negative feedback so you should bear this in mind if decide to buy one. However i had no problems, it arrived very promptly and was well packed.

Oh yeah no connection to the seller etc...

That certainly is cheap. Let us know how you get on with it.

Is it stainless steel? You can check how far the tang goes into the handle by using a magnet. Just move the magnet over the handle and when it stops sticking is where the tang ends (providing the blade is magnetic of course :p ).

To be fair to the sell with over 31,000 sales he's bound to get the odd one or two people who aren't satisfied. Since eBay changed their layout my "Check eBay Negs" plugin has stopped working. Sometimes negs are really stupid things from people who didn't read the listing properly or something like that.

It's cheap, but you will almost certainly find it nasty as well! Our local "cheap shop" sells a lot of Blackspur products, and they are generally complete rubbish. I bought a set of screwdrivers (£2.50) for a DIY job that I was doing, on the grounds that it was more sensible to buy the screwdrivers than waste 45 minutes going home and back to get one. I managed to mangle all the philips drivers on one screw without getting it out. A complete waste of time and money, and lesson learned... you usually get what you pay for! For the record, said screw came out first time with a proper (£11 Stanley) screwdriver.

Blackspur seem to specialise in making tools that look very similar to other brands, but that's as far as it goes. You would probably be better buying a kitchen knife from one of the supermarket chains.
