Just realised that should have read earlier LAST year 
. It was pure luck that we saw them, my other halfs plane was 30 mins late, so we were late getting home, just pulling into the drive and the mountain range behind my dads house was lit up with greens and purples. If the plane had been on time we'd have been in the house and missed them.
