Whoops, posted this on kit chatter but probably better here......

Hello all,
Not been on here for ages but I know someone will know the answer to this......

I've just bought a CC/Arktis Waterproof smock/parka and on the first time I've worn it I've leant onto a painted (gloss) doorframe. Gave it a good scrub and got paint off but have lost the outer water repellent. Anyone know if Nikwax Tech Wash is ok to use on this fabric.

Thanks
Keith

I am sure it will be fine and I have done similar local-reproof jobs myself on similar garments that I have had to scrub clean, but better to use the spray-on version (TX Direct?) as it is easier to apply to a small area only. I prefer the Grangers products for more durability of the effect. They do a spray on version as well.

Thanks I'll check out the Grangers product.

Worth ringing Country Covers and asking them for advice?

Yes I will do that, just thought I'd try here first as I value the 'first hand' feedback. Nice jacket though, nice and light and plenty of room for movement.
