Just wondered if anyone had any plans to have a get together somewhere perhaps with the intention of starting a group or club. It would make a useful way to exchange ideas, experiences, and opinions and the like......would also enable people to get together who fancy doing a course but can't find suitable dates. Most training schools will cater for parties of 4 or more matching up with your dates whereas individuals have to be free on the dates given.
Anybody interested?

Most of the time most of us get out and about either alone or with a couple of friends but we're a quietly friendly group and the Scots, and the Northern English depending on how far North we go, meet up in different numbers and mixes at various sites throughout the year. There's a large cross over with the SoTP folks too.

Some of us will meet up at Lanark this weekend coming, Eric Methven and I will be working but we always make provision to socialise too :D Monarch will be in shining armour knocking lumps out of other suitably clad folks on the battlefield too.

Then in early September Morch and his wife Liz, have volunteered to have us visit for the weekend and use their bit of pine woodland. The Crannog want us back again in November too............it kind of wanders along y'know ?

Courses ? Most of the craftsfolk I know run courses, from basketry to greenwoodworking, and folks like Dave Budd or Robin Wood are always approachable to ask for specifics if a group want to organise something,
Bushcraft courses in your area?, PatrickM is not only nearby but comes incredibly highly recommended.

cheers,
Toddy

Thanks Toddy I will probably be coming over to Lanark (work allowing of course).
You can learn a lot from the forum but some things need to be seen to undertand them and grasp the practical involved. I would love to learn more skills in some of the crafts.
So hope to see you there all being well.
