Hi Jason, this may seem like a really stupid question, but is this actually a shop? Or was it just a one off in the Bedfore area?
Also if it is a shop can you give me an address please pal?
Best of luck
Steve

Hi steve

No question too stupid... we've opened a permanent centre on the outskirts of Bedford. We are retailing from it so please do come down and see us. Everyone knows the financial climate that we are in so all support is greatly appreciated in keeping small businesses going. Yes we are selling kit, none of these cheap safety fire proof fire steels though its all stuff that we use on our courses and expeditions, we have a large range but it is growing aswell, but it isn't just a shop. Its completely unique to the UK, there is a library of our own books you can use for research, there is internet access and digital versions of every national geographic magazine published since 1888, a wealth of information in the staff, information panels on other bushcraft companies and detailed information about fire, food, shelter etc. We are open 7 days a week to begin with until we need a rest. We are setting up a series of Workshop Wednesday's and there will be 1 big day a month where there are demonstrations and workshops taking place. There's piped natural woodland sounds in the centre and woodland smells to create a calming relaxed area to come (although to be fair it wasn't calm on the open day!) We are just launching a new website which will be up in a bout a week where the timetable of events will be on. Its a new project... we're all learning... but I firmly believe in leading at the front and so hopefully we've created a wonderful centre to come and look around, relax, chat with instructors, n have a cup of tea with us. We are still continuing with running our full range of courses in Oxfordshire and Derbyshire aswell as the overseas trips.

Address is Priory Marina, Barkers Lanew, Bedford. MK41 9DJ. I would suggest dont use sat nav, head to the premier inn at priory country park and then go round the back, we are upstairs in the marina chandlery.

Hope that helps

I recently visited the centre again for a bushcraft 1-2-1 and if you are heading there via the M1 or A1(M) then the picture below may help towards the end of your journey. You need to leave a roundabout from the A603 and on Google maps it says head down the A5140...well it the turning is signposted as in the picture. And when you leave the sign at the first roundabout out of the centre says M1 on it, but nothing about the A1(M). HTH
