Can anyone give me an approximate date of manufacture of this knife please?

It's a Christopher Johnson - Western Works Scout Knife and it was given to me when I was a teenager by an elderly gentleman that would have been in his teens in the forties. I believe the scales are buffalo horn but I don't know why - he may have told me that.

I intend to do some gentle restoration on it but not much at all.

I could't find info on the knife, but here is some on the company.

Thanks for that; it makes interesting reading. I've found a number of WWII army knives similar (same blades but with black scales) but not another like this.

Having thought about it some more, the gentleman was a retired reverend in the late sixties/early seventies so was probably in his teens (and a scout) between the wars.
