Another What is it Knife Thread

this is an old pocket knife hadned down from Grandfather ive haddit since he died 25yrs ago

it sort of looks like a Hoof knife but is only sharpened on the curved bit and is way to weak IMO to do the job anyway
it seems to shaped for a Spoon knife

I agree with Tom on this.
I saw one of these at a Gun N Knife show here in the states and asked the same question. The guy told me it was a timber scribe used to mark the ends of timber. I think the one he had was a CaseXX.

The sad thing is that I saw a old one on Burnley flea market 2 Wednesdays back and didn't think that it would make a good travelling spoon knife so didn't buy it! Aghhh!
