Hi everyone,
I would like to show a carving project that i did last summer.
The bowl is made from a piece of beech wood. That had been drying for a while in my shed. The other part is made from a small branch that i cut from a Cotoneaster bush, from my garden. Both are finished to 600 grit wet and dry, and coated with walnut gun stock oil.The bowl has been given 3 coats of alkanet root oil stain.
All comments wellcome.Thanks for looking.
Regarde Chris.

Hello everyone,
thanks for taking the time to look, also for the nice comments.
The spout was the hardest part to do,but it turned out well. The alkanet root stain, that i used on the bowl, realy helps to bring out the grain of the wood.I have found that when you apply the stain(a nice deep red colour). It does not look as though it has coloured the wood much, but when it starts to dry it darkens. You build up the intensity of the stain by adding more coats when the last one as dried.
Regards Chris.
