I would be very interested in seeing the contract and any waivers that you would have to sign. Also the production company’s risk assessment.
I’d be amazed if there was any danger of confrontation with anything dangerous.
Eating human beings is junk food and fauna conservation people would prevent it.

Well there clearly is risk of confrontation if you’ve watched any of the shows.

Eating human beings is junk food
!!!

Judging from how most people look their bodies must be full of cholesterol and toxins. Maybe an organic human raised on a good quality healthy diet might taste nice but I wouldn't fancy eating your average Western European person for 'obvious reasons'.

I thought the justification for taking a lower poundage bow was well thought out - no point taking a bow if over time and lack of calories you find you can't pull it.

Thats interesting. Which series is that Nigel?
Very specific tactic & opportunity biased I'd imagine?.
11 (I think -edit yes just looked). Basically grouse seem to be quite stupid. He had 3/4 metres length of ‘stick’ with a wire snare at the end and walked quietly to the bird and tried to get the loop in front so it would not try and fly. Then pulled over neck and yanked to get the bird. He did a few that way.

Yes! I loved that idea--I think I remember he is partly of Inuit descent, and lives up in Labrador? If I recall correctly, the noose on the pole was a method of harvesting the spruce grouse the native peoples of the north use regularly, as were a lot of the techniques he used. I was pleased to see him making a tiny kennel-like shelter, with no fire incorporated within the structure, just relying on a sleeping bag and his body heat to warm it, and spending the rest of the time in an open-fronted shelter in front of a big parallel log fire. Wise choice, I think, as it meant less time and calories needed to be spent on cutting timber for a smaller fire, and I think the benefits of sitting outdoors in front of a big blaze were also clear--to stay inside a shelter often seems to create deeper introspection. I think he still had ten days of food stored when he won, and was the eldest of all ten contestants.

Regarding the new season, I think that the first episode was perhaps the strongest of all the seasons so far, with many great skills and ideas on display. Looking forward to the rest of it.

I think he embraced some practical ideas and the smaller shelter idea worked many seasons ago.

I’ve only seen seasons 11 & 12 available on NowTV. I only subscribed for a month to watch them while I was at home more on caring duties. I’m less interested in the Africa one. I like the arctic, woodland ones more.

Just seen 13 on US History site. I can work out how to watch that.

I use the free data on PrivadoVPN, set the server to a US one, then stream it that way.

I agree about the African series, it didn't really work for me, despite having visited South Africa before. I prefer the boreal forest too, it seems to make for a more interesting show.

I think season 7 was the first I saw whilst it was on. I'd been put off by trying the first season and finding the editing and tone didn't really work for me. I have since gone back and watched much of the others, and I think they only really hit their stride later on, maybe season 5 or 6 onwards?
