Did a similar thing 18 months ago removing a frame for a manhole cover, the thing wedged and I gave it a tug, it came loose resulting in my right fist coming into rapid contact with my face. End result lost tooth, fractured jaw and I bit clean through my lip. Hope that my dental treatment will end next month as I still have pain if I bite down on my front teeth. Hope you heal quicker than me.
