I've also posted this on BB, but thought I'd try here too.

I'm looking for a new jacket, and I've just about had enough of Gore-Tex and the like.

I need something which is waterproof and breathable - any opinions on the Aigle range of jackets?

I quite like the looks of this one, the New Dartmoor Jacket:

Opinions on it, or the Soledo Jacket?

:)

I bought a Barbour heavy weight jacket about 17 years ago to replace one I grew out of. I have to date not found a way to dent it. Maybe if your fed up of synthetic, waxed cotten might be worth looking at. Although quite heavy it's warm, waterproof, windproof and seems resistant to damage that would shred a synthetic coat in seconds. You also get pockets you can put Things in, not things but Things. Like intersting rocks, a small sleeping bag or a Jack Russel on occasion :)

:D

I have since purchased a Fjallraven Tjaktja from Tamarack Outdoors. Who were very helpful BTW... :)
