It's certainly not going to make you rich beyond your wildest dreams............and you will get embroilled in politics if you work for a local authority, and slowley the life will drain from you as you progress through the ranks of public serventdom. Sorry, dont wanna put you off or nothin, but I just finished a 12 year stint.................and got nothing back out of it..................

Check is your collage gives you Athens membership for access to electronic journals online for free, if it does you should be able to get on to all the major environmental Journals plus the big two Science and Nature.
