I took a stroll in the wood today - not tools, no work, just looking and listening :)

There were a few seasonal first (for our wood anyway): first bluebells are in flower - the bulk will be another two weeks off, first common lizard sunning on a log, the first pied flycatcher and the first speckled wood. The seedpods of the Wych Elm are already filling out too - doesn't seem any time at all since last year's!

Bird song was everywhere :)

I went for a walk down the cricket field with Dad; lots of things springing up, and we spotted the Muntjac lurking in the overgrown pond. (now I know where he hides; hes been loose in the village some years now, no chance of putting roses on the graves in the cemetry; he gobbles them all up)

Dad tried to take some pics; I have no idea if they came out

(200 years of our Cricket team; oldest in Wiltshire. Shame they cant celebrate that yet..._
