I am considering buying a budget sleeping bag, I like the look of the
Coleman Lite 1620 4 Season Sleeping Bag
Can someone explain to me what the following temperature rating means,
Temperature Rating: Comfort +6, Limit +1, Extreme -15 (degrees C)
Cheers

Manufacturers usually only quote for the lower temp ranges, comfort and extreme. It looks like Coleman are giving you an upper limit too.

My interpretation would be:

Comfort -not suitable for temps ABOVE 6C
Limit - you should be 'comfortable' down to 1C -in a tent and wearing minimal clothes.
Extreme -Below this you're in trouble -in a tent, wearing LOTS of clothes, hat and gloves

They all are estimates and approximates because everyone is different. I am quite lucky in that I'm a 'warm' sleeper -I can get away with a thinner bag and still feel OK. My wife is a 'cold' sleeper so she needs a thicker bag.

Also affecting comfort would be things like how well fed you are (food=fuel=heat)

hmmm, rambling now!
