Loose handle on BCB Crusader cup?

Just checked mine. The left side is sort of tight, and the right side is loose... flops around easily. Never actually noticed it before! Definitely hasn't impacted on my use of it. Been using it for several years.

    fiddling with my honey... stove

I've found it easiest to hold the stove during assembly such that each piece you add on tends to want to hang outwards, so that its own weight holds it in place. Once the first five pieces are together, I wrap the assembly around the baseplate so that the notches fit with the baseplate tabs, and...

    Problems with Spyderco Bushcraft

After some reading about taking the best care I could of the maple handles of my Woodlore, I ended up soaking the handle for 24 hrs in Danish Oil, and after wiping off and letting dry for a few days I buffed the handles with Carnuba wax. I don't know if that's the best approach, but I don't...

    Cold feet

Hi, Here in Manitoba it can get to 40 below, and I've always tended towards cold feet as well. For snowshoeing in the winter I wear these boots, which I bought a full size larger than usual (and a wider size than usual) in order to accommodate a thick felt insole and thick wool socks, yet...

A few pics of a day hike in the Whiteshell (Manitoba)

Yes, for that region. The two main types of areas are granite with fairly sparse trees and bog/marsh, which was quite densely forested.

A few pics of a day hike in the Whiteshell (Manitoba)

Hi, Thought I'd post some of a nice day hike today a couple of hours out of town, in the Whiteshell. This was a nice little field of horsetail The area is part of the Canadian Shield, which is largely granite. The trees don't have much to root into, and are easily blown down in a...

A winter hike - some snowy sand dunes

Hi, Thanks :) The area is central Canada, on the prairies. Apparently the sand originates from glacial meltwaters. Here's a quote from their web site: "The area you are about to explore had its beginning more than 15,000 years ago. The Assiniboine River, much larger than it is today...

A winter hike - some snowy sand dunes

Hi, Went on a hike here in Manitoba today in an interesting area that is a small pocket of sand dunes. Still gets as cold as the rest of the prairies in the winter. Thought the photos might be interesting for those in different climates :) Here's a row of trees on the drive out to the...
