    I've done it too--it worked. But as others have said, it does take rather a long time to polish to the required shine.(It took me about 2 1/2 hours work i think?) It is a great feeling when it works too :) Cheers Sam

    For me i found that just sitting ouside after the dark helps, I got used to night noises and sights. I even managed to spot a couple of badgers :D . Then from there try walking back home from where ever you are. Walk somewhere familiar during the day then try to do it at night after you know...

    yes it is spagnum moss! you have to wring it out first (like a sponge). Normally i try to dry it aswell by rubbing it or tucking it in my shirt. its quite flamable !

    Managing a fire

    A sort of Yukon oven/dakota fire hole type thing? a chimney connected to a fire pit via a short tunnel. You cook over the pit? try a google search,i use a siberian fire lay normally a good layer of embers for minimum expenditure of fuel.I tend not to use the teepee fire as it dosent feed...
