Foraging Basket and a weird one

The little basket took me a few hours as it was the first time I've ever done those techniques. The small foraging basket took me about 6 hours and the larger one took me 8 hours. I;m only just starting out in basketry though so I hope to be able to make a foraging basket in 4 hours in a few...

Foraging Basket and a weird one

I've picked it up from books. I had a go a year ago and loved it. Then the end of last year I had another go in earnest and LOVED it. Haven't stopped weaving since! Went on a weekend course with a woman called Jenny Pearce. Made a basket I'd already learned to make from a book - but -...

Foraging Basket and a weird one

:) thanks shewie xx That bottom one is a funny shape. It's got a flat bum and is made to go against the wall, so you can only comfortably get your hand in through the top of it when it's on it's side. At the moment it's nailed to the wall :o but I really want it to hang. grumble. :)...

Foraging Basket and a weird one

Here is some baskets that I've been making. I'm absolutely loving getting to grips with basketry and can't wait to give coil baskets a go soon. The one below is a weird one though. I'm was going to attach a length of rope to it so it could be hung on a hook or something. I don't have any...

    Lightweight-hill-food / wild-camping recipes

Are those pouches dehydrated Rik? I'll definitely look out for them if they are. If they are what is the make? The issue I've had in the past with pre-flavoured packet foods is that having them everyday for two weeks can make you feel quite pants. I've decided it's because of the rubbish...

Need help finding somewhere without snow!

:) thank you! There's been lots of filming in the snow in North Wales. The work that really needs to get done is rainy weather work and they've got until the end of the week to do it! I think Anglesey is going to be the best bet. thanks again!!

Need help finding somewhere without snow!

Hello! My friends are filming in North Wales at the moment. Unfortunately they now need somewhere to film that doesn't have any snow on the ground, as they're going to film stuff about outdoor gear in rainy conditions. They can go anywhere in England - as long as there's no snow and...

Legalities of using a hobo stove

Although I've never used a hobo stove, I know what one is and I can't wait to make one. I've used Trangias (which I love), Coleman Alpine stove (my favourite at the moment) and a selection of rocket fuel powered Msr Stoves (Try taking one of them on a bushcraft trip and staying anon!) It seems...
