    Re-Introduction

Hi All, Thought I'd best reintroduce myself as I've only just become active again here for about 8 years and was last heard of in a wood in Devon back in Autumn 2015. Since then I've wound up my business, retired, sold the house, moved and bought another in the Marches, seen my other half...

Alone (UK) TV series. What ten items would you choose?

I looked at the homepage on the web link. Maybe I misread.

Alone (UK) TV series. What ten items would you choose?

Not seen the series but it would depend on geography, climate and time of year. Where did they put the contestants? "Tropical" doesn't help much. And what use is a bear pepper spray going to be, or ice spikes, on a small tropical island? Weird... anyway at an uniformed guess I'd probably go for...

    Old Hatchet... What to do?

Looks like a power drill with wire brush attachment job. As said, get the head off the haft so as to be able to burnish it thoroughly, soak the haft overnight in linseed oil, and refit using steel wedges.

Hallo again, from the Marches this time...

Hi All, I've been away for about four years, was Hampshire/New Forest but am back in a different location (mid Wales borders). Selling and buying a house, then Covid, took up an awful lot of time. Good to be back :-)

Karrimor Sabre 75, Montane Terra Trousers, Dutch Bivvy, Ridgeline Roar Trousers +more

It is, Rob, and thanks (I'm six foot nothing) :-) I figured that in any case it could make a handy front porch for the tent if too small to use as a comfortable alternative... one of the bigger DD multicam tarps was the other option but I do like the Army basha's IRR property as well as its...

Karrimor Sabre 75, Montane Terra Trousers, Dutch Bivvy, Ridgeline Roar Trousers +more

Hi Rob, I'm thinking seriously of acquiring one of these - but havering about the size - can I ask if you found it a tad small?

    Any thoughts on my kit?

    - Looks good, though considering what Jaeger already said. What's in the First Aid kit, though?

Awesome, Hamish. You don't often see such a fusion of the practical and the beautiful. Lost for words. Thanks for sharing. Nick.

    Shields..........?!

I remember in my early days, charging a West Saxon shield wall and came up against this big fyrdman named Eofor ('The Boar'). When I came to, I was wearing the shield rim round my neck, and looking up at the sky through the parted boards. Oh, and still gripping the boss in my left hand :-) The...
