Hi, I knew some people who used to go mountain biking there,from what I was told is they have plenty of casual trails there and they have some of the big downhill courses with bike lift to the top...So I think you need to avoid those areas.

I did think about it being an old nest that had fallen out or maybe a squirrel drey but seemed too big to me? Also,it's not easy to spot in the picture, there is what seems to be an entrance into the "nest" on the left hand side Brian

Can anyone come up with any ideas on what bird would make a nest like this on the ground? I spotted it amongst a small stand of Norway spuce that was in a smallish unused grazing paddock. I couldn't say for sure whether it was still in use or not. I don't know whether its relevant or not but...

I voted hard too :banghead: I've only had 2 attempts so far, My first attempt I could get smoke n lots of dark brown dust after a few strokes but I couldn't sustain it as my drill keep flying out. I think 10 strokes was my record! My second attempt was with a different drill, same wood from...

Also might be to do with the farmers realising Buzzards weren't as big a problem as they thought so now they aren't being persecuted like I heard they were at one time?

Close to where I live I would guess there are 4 maybe 5 pairs of Buzzards, all within a couple of miles. Has anyone else noticed an increase of the Buzzard population nationally or could it be just a local thing? Brian

I don't live that far from Baschurch, only about 5 miles from where I work. I can almost guarentee you'll see more badgers than you can shake a stick at ;) Can't think of any camp sites nearby off the top of my head, only caravan parks sorry... oh and I think if I remember right there is...

Found a piece of Bramble this evening, its quite straight and about 30 inches long and a bit bigger than finger thick. So could i use this as a hand drill? Thanks Brian
