Anyone know what kind of knife this is ?

hey guys, im just wondering by chance if anyone knows what kind of knife this is, i have been told my granda has had it since the war, when he was in the RAF, not sure if its issue or not. hes not alive now so im unable to ask him.

blade only says 'stainless sheffield england' on each blade.

My Grandad and Dad had one similar, about the same size and blades about the same too only difference that the ones they had the size pieces on the main body of the knife made from bone or more probably a man made material to look like bone. I'd be interested to know what the style of knife is called too
