Hi All,

Need to get some trousers for next weekend and there seem to be good deals for the Kiwis all over the place. Trouble is I cannot get anywhere so I'll have to order online.

Anyone have these and how are the fitting?

By that I mean, I am usually around 36-38 (xl) but have chunky legs so they can be tight around the thighs.

Thanks in advance

Marc

Always found them to have plenty of movement in them, as they are designed for walking so they are much more baggy than say jeans.

We have about the same waist size and i used to weight life and do martial arts so my legs aren't exactly straight up and down.

I would say they are pretty generous in the waist measurement, and have plenty of room in the leg. I struggle to fit in 36" waist trousers (ok, let's not pretend, I plain *don't* fit in 36" waist trousers any more), but the 36" regular length kiwis are a comfy fit for me. I'm 5' 9", roughly, and a bit of a porker (15.5 stone).

I really like the fit on Kiwis, and the pocket configuration suits me really well. My only criticism is the belt - the buckle can be a faff to get through the belt loops, so if you like to walk around with stuff hanging from your belt it can be a nuisance to get stuff on and off. That's easy to fix though!

What cavedweller said. Plenty of room in them. Plenty of length in them too. I also had a problem with the belt except that the one i had kept coming undone. It had a strange kind of plastic buckle that would flip open at random moments and they would slip down. I was forever stopping to pull my keks up! I binned the belt and fitted a different one to cure the problem.

Same as Cave_Dweller, an inch taller, half stone lighter, 36 Regular fits me fine. Worth getting the "Zip off" version if you can as they're only about two quid dearer and turn into shorts.

I had the same problem with the belt buckle on two pairs so ended up binning both belts.

I'm a 34" waist (just!!) and the 34s are a very generous and extremely comfortable fit for me. Hope that helps.

Best Wishes
David

Watch out for the lengths - I bought a pair of Kiwi's in TKMaxx a while back. The wait was fine, but the regular length (I'm a 31 leg, which is usually fine) was too long. I tried the short fitting (29in) in the same size, and it was perfect. When I asked on this forum what was up, some one came back with the answer that its assumed that your going to be wearing boots with them, and so they are longer than usual.

See if you can get to a Sports Direct (I can't believe I'm typing this!), since they had some in there the other week (lined ones too) for £20. That way you can at least try them on.

Yea, I'll just tuck my trackies in my socks and get my hood up!;);)

Cheers for that though, there is one fairly local to me which will be easy to visit, never thought of TKMaxx

To be fair they are only for an archery comp with the dress code and thought them the best option for price and for wearing again

Aye get to tk maxx Marc, you can try them on there.

Best thing about them is the elasticated waist band, so a 36" should fit fine.

My only gripe is that the belt loops only fit up to 1 and 1/4 ",my fave belts are 1and1/2".

I take a reg 31" leg being 5'10" and a 34"/36" waist.
It's good to have room about 'yourself' if youknow whatI mean.

As has been said, they are a generous fit, i'm a 36" but buy the kiwi's & 5.11's in size 34".

Rob

Hey Rob,
From what you are saying the 5.11's are also a generous fit? 34 Craghoppers fit me fine and I was looking at the 5.11 Taclite pro pants...If a 34 Crag fits me then a 34 5.11 will too?
How do the 5.11's compare to the Kiwi's?
Cheers
Gareth
