I have all my kit in different coloured Exped dry bags Drew.

Hammock and cords/krabs in a 3L
Tarp in a 3L
One big pack liner which the doss bag and clothing go straight into and everything else on top of that.

If you put your tarp into a dry bag and put it in the lid pocket of your pack it will stop everything else from getting wet. Leave your tarp up until everything else is packed away in your pack, fasten it up and then take your tarp down and put it in the lid pocket last of all.

lol yer sorry cheers shewie drew

I think Shewie Drew is a nice name.

I'm currently resisting the lure of a 120 litre - I don't trust packs that's almost as tall as I am! I just know I'll try to fill it and keel over backwards.

Your mileage may vary somewhat Drew but here's what I use. Hammock, attached under-insulation and regular blanket go in a 20litre drysack - that way it's all together and gets deployed in one move. Tarp goes in a 3 litre. Dry clothes, food and everything else goes into a 60 litre pack liner (oversized for the task so with room to spare). This all somehow gets rammed into a 60 litre pack.

Tarp goes in the bottom compartment; water, travel nibbles and brew kit goes into two 2 litre side pockets; 60 litre drybag goes in main compartment with hammock on top.
