I was wondering if anyone would be willing to make me a hobo stove? Unfortunately I don't have the time/know how to make a good job of it. I have some idea of what I want, I just need someone skilled to put it into practice.

Hope someone can help.

(I really want a method of steaming fish -- could be quite a fun little project).

A hobo stove is nothing but a tin/steel can with holes in. The most effective/efficient hobo is a solid can with a line of holes at the bottom on one side and a line of holes at the top on the other. Feed from the top.

Bottom holes into the wind for a hot burn/boil. Top holes into the wind for a slow burn/simmer.

The whole point of a hobo is that it costs nothing, and can be made from anything.

Hello HillBill,

Yes, I am aware of the hobo stove in a 'traditional' sense; however, I'm looking for something a bit more complicated. Perhaps I should have just put stove rather than hobo stove. Anyway, lets see what happens.

I want one of these folding cookers
http://www.amazon.com/Innovative-Products-Foldable-Pocket-Cooker/dp/B000HR95NO

Anyone know where to source one in the UK?

I just gave one away on this forum! They do seem to appear on and off in the UK but there don't seem to be any suppliers at the moment.

If you don't want to make a hobo stove, and have a bit of spare cash (about £35), I can recommend the Honey Stove from BackpackingLight.co.uk. There are a few threads about this (and about the pocket cooker) on this forum.
