Odin on Sleipner Wayland (too slow)

An old one back

The creature ate its words. It seemed to me strangely weird when I heard this wonder:
that it had devoured human speech.

A thief in the darkness gloriously mouthed the source of knowledge but the thief was not
the least bit wiser for it.

That sounds rather like an echo to me...

OK, a rather shortened paraphrase of another oldie (the original is rather long...)

I was, before God's flood
Without flesh, or skin, or bone.
Headless, footlessly I stride
Nothing's child, never born.
Voicelessly, I howl.
Handless, I touch a whole field.
I am no repairer of disorder,
Gentle, murderous, and without sin.
I am wet, and dry,
And weak, and strong.
What am I, that the cold moon fosters,
And the ardour of the sun?

Not an echo Dunc - sorry

I do like Taliesin's poem of the wind :)

Had to cheat to find that one out. Several very nice riddles written in that particular style. Nice find.

Ah, that would be a bookworm I suppose. One of the Exeter type.

Use me well and I am everybody.
Scratch my back and I am nobody.
