Wow!
What a short and agro filled membership!
It sounds like the guy has had issues with access by less well intentioned folk in the past.....

I think you're right, and without knowing exactly whats on the land or where those boys camped etc it's impossible to form a true opinion on the situation. He obviously feels very strongly, and no doubt either he or people in his area has had some nasty experiences with people who do not understand the Land Reform act correctly etc. Not too much of a surprise if the OPs mate does that sort of thing.

I feel for him, his post was obviously made in anger, however I wish he had spent perhaps more time reading other posts and how the vast majority of us, especially in Scotland do respect the act, and that many are in fact country people. What ever his problems are or have been I hope he manages to solve them rationally and fairly. Often a quiet word and an explaination to those who break rules etc are better than ranting and raving about it. Teaching them to respect the surroundings rather than give them reason to hate it. Of course there will always be people who intend to do whatever they like regardless of those around them, and to them let the law take it's full course.

A quote from 'your' Act
"you should not camp in enclosed fields of crops or farm animals"
This is private land and it is a standing crop.
If a fire is lit in there again they will find out just how they can be interfered with, BY LAW.
Its typical of the bunny hugging kagool clad tossers that think they own the countryside, trample everywhere, let dogs run riot with total disregard for nesting birds & young deer, and drop litter wherever they go, including old cars, and the majority of which hav'nt got a clue about flora & fauna.
Hopefully someone will get bitten by one of the many adders that frequent the area, then there will be cries of "argggh, wild animals, kill them, kill them. Its a pity that an adder bite is not always lethal.

I wont post on this forum again, you are not country people.

i'm glad that others have responded to this. I get really Humpty if anyone thinks they can impede my access to our land.

A very short sighted attitute me thinks...........the original poster was obviously a responsible if young person..............his two so called mates where not....

If I had an interest in this land I think that not only would I l.ike to dis wade dumb and dumber from accessing and causing a wave of destruction, but I would also like to invite the original poster to use the land responsibly, where he could help monitor missuse by others and help protect the site.....

Obviously our whistle stop member has no concept of what bushcraft is about......

Smoggy.

wow, proper mental.

i think i've come across that attitude before. but i have much more respect for it when it's said in person, to my face. rather than on an internet forum or, more frequently, from a moving car

the world's my oyster mate. i can go wherever i like, and do whatever i like. cos i'm a sensible person and i won't do anything stupid.

i think that's the spirit of the access laws isn't it?

IHow about telling their parents why you arent going camping with them again and that you intend to inform the police should they chose to go camping again with or without you.
Lads (and all men actually) absolutely hate it when you name and shame them to their mums, though it might be difficult to do when your 17 I know it always worked for lousy students!

All men? What an unbelievably sexist statement!

Hoever I will consider this carte blanche to post opinions on "all women".

If you haven't ever noticed firecrest men are individuals and human beings just as much as women

It's the telling their Mum's thing BR, with girls it's telling their Dad's
Mum's would be ashamed of their son's behaviour and Dads' would be disappointed in the girls..............well, that's how we see it.
My Dad being angry at me for something I could answer, but him disappointed in me would cut to the quick.
My son's would be more upset that I was ashamed of something they'd done than that I was angry at them,

cheers,
Toddy

My Mum covered my FAC at 12 Toddy and encouraged me on the moor foraweek with my brother before either if I needed to shave.

I bleeding hate dual standards. If its okay to post "All men are..." threads can I observe they are about as realistic as "all women are desparate to marry and divorce a meal ticket in case they have to support themselves"?

Seriously - equality is equality. If people want it - man hating posts are just as out as women patronising posts. I'm easy either way - just "call the ball". If gender abuse is in, I'm up for it!

Go and do me a favour please.
Re read Lindsay's post.
It was boys who set the fires and blew up the canister.
Therefore she discussed boys, not girls, boys.

How the hang is that sexist ??

Anyway its a good sign if a person is afraid of what their parents think of them. I cant see how Im being sexist just because I made a blanket statement, I have made plenty blanket statements about women too.

<sigh> never mind - If you can't see anything sexist in "all men actually" then clearly any post I make in the future that contains "all women are..." will be acceptable

The behaviour of two male louts in the woods reflects on "all men" the same as the behaviour of two bleached blond, implant carrying, zero moral compass women trying to get pregnant relates to "all women"

Sorry to break ranks girls, but surely tarring with big brushes is just unhelpful in all circumstances? I LOVE this forum prescisely because everyone seems so unique... it's what makes the world fun! not that I'm suggesting any bad intention whatsoever, but pigeon-holing is one of my pet peeves :D
