Alpkit have just reduced the price of their SkyeHigh 400 sleeping bag from £65 to £45 and their Regular Airic self inflating sleep mat from £35 to £25. A bargin for those who have been looking for something like this.

No connection etc, just a satisfied customer.

**The Alpkit comfort rating is a guideline figure. It is the minimum temperature at which we think a fit and healthy user can have a comfortable night's sleep. This is based on practical experience and BS4745 testing by the boffins at Leeds University.

As far a quality goes, I can't speak of the sleeping bags. I do have a Hunka bivi and a Gourdon bag, both of which are built to a high standard, seem very robust. Of all the reviews ( which you can find on their site ) there really isn't much complaining at all.

I've written a review of the 800 version in the review section on this forum, this bag should be identical but with 400g less down.

Cheers,
Lasse

lol - I posted a link to Alpkit a few mins after you but no one replied in my thread! Ah well, mine has just arrived here at work, I'll not be using it until after Santa 'officially' brings me it though!

Alpkit are based in Ilkeston, which is quite close to the village where I live. Knock on the door this morning and there's a bloke there with my roll-mat, apparently he lives in the same village as me and decided to drop the mat off :)

Top service :D

My kip mat just arrived :D

Right you two, we are all expecting reviews of the mats. Pictures of people jumping up and down on them are optional. Please no mating pictures either... *shudder* :p

Ok then, it was well packed, came with the two straps and a bag to keep it in, a great shade of olive green, and was a bugger to first inflate !

Valve seems solid, no leaks, and is nice and comfy to lie on. When i take it out camping/hammocking, i'll get back to ya :lmao:

Oh yeah, its the reg airic, and its about 6' ish tall

What he said. There's probably a knack to blowing it up and taking a breath without some air coming out again (unless it's keeping your mouth clamped on the valve and breathing through your nose as I can't do that).

My bum wasn't touching the floor after inflation, so that's good enough for me.

(and mine's a regular as well)

I've had one fo their slim airics for a few months now and it's pretty good, so would think that the reg airic is even comfier. Used it in Germany when it was very cold and worked a treat. Woudl definatly recommend them.

the 400 is really warm and toasty for a summerweight bag - roomy too. If you sleep hot like me I reckon it will do right down to around 0* and more with a silk liner. It's quite roomy too - I'm not tall but am barrel shaped :) and I found it well comfy.

At £45 it's a steal- you won't find anything close to that price for the quality. I give it 5 stars
