Browsed a copy of 'Combat & Survival Magazine' in Charing Cross Rd Borders last month. The 'survival' bit seems to consist of a brief field guide to fungi (article was OK but short) and...erm...that's it.
The 'combat' bit, however, appears to number the occasional kit review ('latest tanto special forces murderer throat-ripper special knife') and then a shed-load of articles on 'Czech special forces on annual Bulgarian gunnery camp', 'the wonderful odour of a freshly oiled pistol' or something random like that.
I don't mean to put anyone off - it's horses for courses, really, and I shouldn't scorn other peoples' interests - but there wasn't a great deal in the issue I saw to interest the bushcraft officianado.
Oh yeah - I nearly forgot (duh!) - there was a review of a camo jacket (I think) which was suitably modelled by a semi-naked babe. Very objective, I thought. In fact, it appears that for every piece of kit the review must include an unclothed woman.
Maybe we should start a XXX thread on kit we wish to see being modelled by pretty women? Gransfors Small Forest Axe being swung suggestively by pouting lady, anyone?
Cheers,
Mike
