Thank you and happy new year!

That will have been when they were in the shipping containers then? They have now moved to a much swankier place on the outskirts of Sheffield in Oughtibridge. I can't see one of those coveted ⭐ being distant in their future at all.

These are the knives that I put into there.

Good grief, those are fantastic, lovely they're going to be used in a public setting, and it's a Sheffield public setting.

Wow! Those are lovely.
Yes, it did seem a bit edgy going for a meal in a shipping container!

Slightly off topic question, but not too far - if I wanted to make a wood carving knife out of an old cutlery knife is that an okay or a total pants idea? People make these out of all sorts including old saws.
I know I could buy some amazing steel or other, but I’d have to buy it, and old kitchen/knives I already have. Not for sale or anything and not near the level of craftsmanship on display here, just to understand if it’s a reasonable or totally dumb idea.

If we are talking table cutlery, my own first thoughts are that you might struggle.

I don't think the hardness of the blade would be up to serious woodwork, but more than that, maybe the steel wouldn't be thick enough to apply the type of edge to it that would be preferable to carve wood?

But, give it a go, there is nothing to lose, eh?

At the same time, though, if you want some steel, I have loads of offcuts, and I would be happy to send a few to you that would be suitable.

Thanks for the advice and the offer, that’s incredibly decent of you.

Let me see if I can rustle up something interesting in return and I’ll drop you a pm. Thanks again!
