This is my closest surroundings. I live near the race track up in the middle of picture. The other over-arching shadow is the fear and loathing of the repressive knife laws. Whilst I might sometimes look at larger/fancier blades, I think what's the point ?, When am I going to use it and where can I even take it.
What difficulty do you perceive in becoming a full member, if I may ask?And that is perhaps why folk have the choice to become paying members, to keep alive what they value.
And yes I know I am not a paying member but would wish to become one if the difficulty I perceive in becoming one can be resolved.
I was going to ask the same questionWhat difficulty do you perceive in becoming a full member, if I may ask?
I don't know about you, but I have seen Dave Budd's work in the flesh as it were and Hamish who was mentioned in another post I have seen on Etsy so essentially I agree there are alternative channels out there.Simple truth is... nothing sells on here. Makers wont waste their time on a dead end. Can't remember the last time i posted knife work on here, though i'm still on here. And as per forum rules, you need to pay to advertise, but why would you do that, for no return?
It used to be a good place to advertise... now its not.
No offence to Tony and crew or any members. Things have just moved on. When folks don't buy, the products don't get shown. Advertising/marketing costs time... time is money as a self employed person... No money = No time

That might help. At least it would encourage makers to at least advertise/show their wares. But if no ones buying, because the forum base (most being longer term members) either have all they need, or as with many of us, times are harder than they used to be... It's worth a try for sure. But, i'm not overly optimistic on the outcome in all honesty Stew.Agreed.
I would suggest that if makers are to be encouraged back that a level of free selling allowance could be given.
It would, if much bushcraft was spoke about.I think that the site offers a much more balanced view of Bushcraft now than it did then.
Agreed.

Has bushcraft reached a state of peak-bushcraft?It would, if much bushcraft was spoke about.
No, but the forum has for a while reached a state of all things but bushcraft. To some extent anyway. Old thread resurrections, sales etc. Peak Bushcraft? I feel we're more at a point of some basic Bushcraft being needed. This place is more of a chat room, than a bushcraft forum. Hi, ASL?Has bushcraft reached a state of peak-bushcraft?
