Anyone getting up to another because it's hot?

We're talking the opportunity of hitting the beach and I'm looking forward to my weekly sea swim/lounge. Not sure I've got the energy for much else outside, it's very warm and I like the cold!

I was brought up in North African climates and the rules and measures taken then are still with me. Stay out of the sun, seek leafy shade to relax in, move slowly, wear loose clothing, drink plenty of water. Though a cold Peroni goes down well too :)

We were forced (as kids) to take siesta but I used to climb over the balcony, down the drainpipe, and go play - I suspect my parents knew :)

I've never been one for lounging in the sun; lying on a beach is no holiday for me!

We’re living in a field in the van. It’s nice and breezy, there is a pub about a mile away. Gonna be here until late August when we can move into our new flat.

Just about 200yds down the road is Wests Wood yard. It’s Wood Fair weekend so the whole place is filling up with steam engines and stalls. Pete’s totem pole has a new friend this year, I’ll take a pic when we’ve put it up.

37°C here today & 40°C expected tommorrow, my main concern is keeping the old dog cool, so our plans are to stay in the coolest room of the house & move as little as possible until it passes. :)

The municipal outdoor pools open here today. :) 34C on the car thermometer yesterday. But a balmy and breezy 25C right now.

One neighbour had plans for a nice long, cool shower in public. The first rain after some days of hot sunshine..Pass the Shower Gel please..

10:47 & it's already 31°C outdoors in the shade & 27°C in the house. I have fans blowing full blast on the laptop & WiFi thingy. I'll be hosing the mutt down a little later.

Had a cool night alright! Should have checked the weather. It started raining quite heavily in the early hours, and its now wet and grey.

Still, on the positive side, it will save me carting dozens of watering cans up the garden tonight. :)

Sit under a shady sycamore...
