Baked birch and painted spoon

Had a week away on a canal boat last week and managed a bit of whittling

This was from some lovely straight grained paper birch. It looked a very plain spoon before baking and painting! I burnished the bowl area but left the handle sharp to pick out the facets after a light coat of milk paint.

I think it was around 40 mins at 180 in a fan assisted. Lightly oiled with pure tung before hand.
