Any advice all you experienced Bushcrafters could give me on your opinion of the best all rounder would be very much appreciated.

Kind regards

Have I agree with a mora. Razor sharp out of the box, easy to maintain and cheap as chips

A Mora or Hultafors knife, good blade, solid handle and not so costly that you'll worry about using it. I like shiny kit as much as the next person, but for all round ability and quality at a good price point younprobably would strugglemtomdombetter than a Mora.

Whilst my first knife was a Mora, I have to say that the knife I use most, and thus is my goto general purpose knife is my Svord Peasant Mini. It's EDC legal, which means I have it with me more. It can take a good edge, and it's done me right for a range of camp tasks such as carving tent pegs, slicing food and the like. At a recent meet someone was struggling to cut veg neatly with a thick bladed scandi grind bushcraft knife, so I lent them my peasant mini, and it sped up processing very rapidly.

These days I reserve my Mora for carving purposes.

I went full circle and am now back using mora knives

I prefer the carbon 510 but am also liking the new basic 511

If i wanted something at the next level it would be a Bushcraft black

infact you xould get all three for 50 notes...

For cheapness a mora companion is good. If you have a bit of money then I have a Gary mills timberwolf, I made the handle myself so got it cheaper as a kit

I suppose if I was to answer the original question of the BEST all rounder, whilst I think the Mora knives are very good all round knives my own best all rounder is my Alan Wood knife that I've had for about ten years, (the bottom one in this pic) I tend to favour this over my scandi grind Alan Wood knife for many applications. My 30 year old Mora is at the top, lots of hard use/ abuse and it's still just about going.

Though I've a plethora of knives to choose from (despite breaking up most of the collection a few years back) the knife I use most often 'round camp is one of my Opinels. I'll usually have a sheath knife at my hip but I find my hand snaking to my right hand pocket to use that Opinels. Usually either a carbon #6 or the limited edition SS #8.
Light, easy to open, sharpen & maintain I findustry them unsurpassed for food prep and most light camp tasks. And for the money probably the best value for money knife out there. I do rotate other pocket knives in there but I do like those little French jobs.
If you are looking for a fixed blade the much mentioned Moras are excellent, not only a great starter blade but probably more knife than most of us will ever need, bar the natural lust for something else.
