best budget axe?

Apologies if this is retreading old ground, i've read some older threads but wondered if anyone had found any new budget axes that might be worth investing in? I've need of an axe for splitting wood for my fire pit, but will inevitably end up strapped to my pack!

I've used a hultafors trek axe as a mate carries one. I could just get one of these but wondered if there are better tools out there of a similar price?

I take it the Husqvarna is basically the same axe?

I guess hatchet/trekking size, prefer a traditional wood handle construction

It depends I suppose on what you call an axe, but I think there are some bargains to be found in car boots. Never mind the rust, never mind the woodworm, nothing that can't be fixed.

That's the one I've used, great price, if there isn't anything better I'll grab one of those. I won't be carving or anything, just splitting and building shelter.

I'd love to bring an old one back to life, not having much luck as yet at the boot
