Best LARGE tent

I am looking for something massive that the Mrs will love to come car camping with me in. She likes to have lots of room. I was pretty set on getting a 5m bell tent from Soulpad but thought I would post here for a bit of advice before taking the plunge. I think canvas is a must as I will be making a fairly large wood burner to go inside.

Any ideas would be much appreciated, budget is about 500 golden nuggets.

Ive already got a tipi and ridge tent to take my small wood burner that I use for solo trips. I just want something huge for us to spend a week in in comfort. I've got a Vango something 500 with extended front and wind break but it's cheap nylon stuff and I wouldnt dream of putting a stove anywhere near it.

If you put in a stove jack you can have a stove in a nylon tent no problem.

Another vote for the Coleman Coastline, they come in various sizes, I've the 8, has four bedrooms.

Easy to pitch, one of the smaller versions may suit you more, 8 man

Hi there
I run a fishing so get to see loads of moderne tents... Absolutely THE best quality canvas tents I've seen are the Karsten Dutch made inflatable tents.
They are awesome..canvas with inflatable structure that you just connect to a compressorwith a valve like a car tyre and let it inflate. The downside is that they are expensive and heavy, but once erected I've not yet seen a better tent.

Helsport Valhall stocked at Tamarack could be a good choice, plenty of room and has 2 sleeping quarters and a good admin area in middle. They have a demo on youtube looks the nuts the way he has set up

Looks amazing but a little over my 500 quid budget.

Try looking at Anchor Supplies in Ripley. They do ex-Army tents in every size from two-man pup tent to Field hospital size.

No connection, just a happy customer.

p.s. We use a 9' x7' for me and the wife, and planning to get another for the kids.

We once had a hi gear Kalahari 10 from go outdoors. A huge thing. Very stable in high winds too. 10 berth. Swmbo had a Coleman double height king size airbed in one of the bedrooms along with a travel cot and had room to spare. Dining table in centre with an inflatable 3 and 2 seater settees.
It's a tunnel tent. Not bushy but big.

Swmbo always fancied the Hi gear Colorado 10 actually. Might have another look into them.

You can't beat a nice bell tent that has been all glamped up for a bit of luxury camping. It is a great way to get the non camper into the outdoor life. Take a gander at this one>
