Strangely enough, the only one of us to lose anything permanently that weekend, was by far the most organized
Gotta go with that one, trees/plants and fungi unless I have had it positively id'ed previously are a pig to id from book pictures and photo's, colour blindness is a bit of a misnomer the real problem is colour perception. I was told in my teens I was red/green colour blind, and later told that if I was driving in fog I would see the red light but not the green on traffic lights!!!! Total rubbish. It is certain shades of the red and green spectrum I miss construe, hence my trouble with relating painted and photographic images to those in reality in a variety of light and shade conditions.
Oh! and I don't believe anyone who takes time to read or post on BCUK is "stupid" (except for the odd troll) from the wealth of info and helpful advice I have read here.
To this day, after twenty five years of this, I still can't pack a rucksack so that I know exactly where everything is...
main three i struggle with are in no particular order
1 feather sticks
2 wild plant id although i am improving here
3 travelling light i get caught up with a case of the just in cases every time
i'm getting better at 2 and 3 still rubbish at 1 though

yep Im another one for not being able to pack light, though I am getting a bit better every time I go out. Trouble is when I organize a meet I feel that I must bring everything just in case.

There, I've said it!
Despite well over three decades of 'Wild camping or Bushcraft , I still only know a couple of knots.
The rest I just kind of make up or get right by accident, I even have two knot books that remain untroubled by my eyes!
Not sure why, but I have a bit of a blind spot when it comes to them.
What about you Cats?

You need to be shown in person bud. There's loads I'm not good at but knots is something I'm confident enough in. Only need a handful to do all you'll need. If we're ever at a meet up together, I'll show you a few.

Like Mary said Spoon carving. Not that I am good at anything else bushcrafty, cos I ain't. I can just about tell an Oak tree from a pine. No idea what fungi will send me to Mars or A&E.
Tracking Well i can tell whicjh direction I came from but that's about it.
Yeah, pretty lousy at everything but carving a spoon is by far the worst.

Sorry to butt in, chris the cat, are you right handed man, or left handed, its makes all the difference when its comes to tie even a simple over the hand knot, I taught Dave 53, which is a left handed person to tie knots as a right handed man would, under less than 1hour, and he was able to tie the Chinese landyard knot by himself, which been a bane in his life for a few years. I am not an expert, I don't pretend to be either, I just usr simple instructions that all, if you don't mind hanging with the Greenhorns, or lesser God, then maybe look for me at the moot , that is if you are going.

There are only two kinds of knots in the world. Those that stay tied, and those that do not and I am an expert in the former, best to use cable ties instead
Me? Oh I'm brilliant at everything.
Everything that is, apart from:
Sharpening things
Getting things beyond the planning stage
Woodwork
Knots
Remembering where I put stuff
Not losing stuff whilst outdoors
Being tidy
Not cutting myself when woodworking
...and several other things too tedious to mention

Making time to get out - always seem to find something else that has to be done before I can play.
For years I had the fire making skill sof an eskimo too, but I'm getting better!!

I like to have a go at everything (have a go does not mean being any good though) but plants is a weakness I really want to get to grips with followed by leatherwork when finances allow.
Regarding knots I have a massive collection as I like to know exactly how things work, also I made a point of teaching myself when I started running a scout troop. How are the kids supposed to learn if you can not teach them?
Best advice for learning a knot is find a use for a knot you want to learn, I would say I can roll off around 24 knots which include lashings, splices and whippings and they generally get me by.
As for left/right handed people and knots I tend to do it both ways especially things like a clove hitch sometimes it helps to act like a mirror when teaching other times its a side by side follow my lead. It can really depend on the knot in question.
When I finally get my hammock then I will learn a few more knots.
