I am working on a period knife made with a farrier's rasp/file. I am not sure if I will gind it clean or go for a rougher look. Depends on the Part 2 of this video. Any one out there making knives. I like to borrow other peoples knowledge :)
Likely do a handle video and shealth video as...
I finally broke down and bought a few of these Gas cans.
These cans are pricey but rugged as hell.
Anyway I have 2 10 liter cans but will get a 20 liter. WHOOPS 2.5 gallon and 5 Gallon for my friends south of the 49th.
Canada Princess Auto has these as does DS Tactical
I don't have...
I like my primatve time but I really like my tech so I made this little project.
[video=youtube_share;vF55lJEvZTk]
This was a fun project but I will likely take this one apart in the winter and redo it with a better case and front panel. .
Anyway Covid 19 project completed!
250 dollars CDN...
I picked up this PCLE in DPM pattern this is the short version. Got it at my favourite surplus store Varusteleka Its 90 litres plus 20 more in the side compartments.
Ok what does PCLE stand for?
It still has a surplus smell to get rid of but I can't wait to get it out for an over nightery...
This menu is so good. Beef and Groats.
The beef wasn't too salty and the stew like flavour and barley groats work well. Hazelnuts, honey, chocolate and hard biscuits with caraway round out the meal with coffee and orange drink.
Its small but 1555 calories even though the label says...
I just got this system and had 5 long guns to range with all my target supplies etc. I packed a few steel targets on top very cool the envy of the parking lot at the range.
Check out the video of this cool gun/truck organiser. This system was pricey but its great to stay organised...
I did it. I opened the Kalakukko from Varusteleka. So it has a bold name fishcock but it does tast pretty good and with 439 calories and 26 grams of protein and 0 grams of Fishcock its a good campfood. That and a candy bar wood make an emergency night out in the woods more of camping trip...
Oh boy did I handle it.
I was thinking of my UK buddies. No talk of politics just some old school gun porn to keep your mind off things regardless of your vote.

I took the Mosin last week and the old girl (1942) still shoots pretty good. I was hitting things at 300 yards prone and standing at 100 yards.
I thought to myself a soldier that got to live long enough to understand how his/her rifle worked had a good weapon in the Mosin Nagant...
Gents,
I thought I'd tease my friends across the Atlantic.
My latest today.
Check out how fast this shotgun cycles in the video below.

Ok the cookies might not be poisoned they are likely made with too much love preventing soldiers from doing soldier things.
I had a rare chance to drive to the range in February so I through in a lot of guns into the truck and I planned a hot lunch to extend my shooting for an entire day of...
I was building a shelter in the woods and took some time to try an IMP which is much like a MRE. Breakfast sausages and bread from 2010-11
I got a nice little fire but should of took a bit more time prepping my meal.
I'll post some pictures of the shelter when I can get some this weekend...
Let me start by saying I wanted an Optimus 8R stove since I was a kid. A few years ago I found they have copies made in Russia. I had some overtime due to me so early Merry Christmas to me.
It works good but it did take a while to get 2 cups to boil I think I need to work on getting the...
This winter I had a bit of walking to get into the range as the snow was too much to be removed. I need the exercise so I embraced a nice 1 k round trip walk into the range. I did pick up a softcase rifle bag 48" and a molle pouch that turns into a nice man purse ;) A little later in the...
I just got this piece of kit in the mail and I cant wait until the mosquitos die down so I can get out in the woods and make a fire and break this kit in. Any suggestions for a menu?

My wife and I had a great ride outside of Sussex NB. Saw some moose prints and 120+ km of logging roads with some cut backs up small "mountains" lots of water and mud. Two conservation officers were driving the trails. We had passes for the season so it was all cool.
Here is a vid...
I hope its ok to post a gun video especially since this old rifle was built in 1944 and protected us all from WW2.
I have a bunch of videos on this thing as I got it then rebuilt it. Anyway it was a mark 1 and post ww2 it was updated to Mk2 then turned into a sporter.
I finally got...
Well not a bushcraft activity but certainly a bushcraft food and a great way to learn a skill that is dying.
I made my first batch of dry cured bacon.
