I had a half day today at work and found myself exploring the local army surplus this afternoon. After rummaging around for a few hours I managed to spend a small fortune.
Part of my hoard was a number of Army issue binoculars some of which are ww2 dated. They are in pretty good nick but could prob do with a service.

Do any of the West Yorkshire based forum members here know of a local company who service binoculars; especially older types?
I have tried googling but so far had no luck.

Been out of the loop for a while but don't despair, there are/ were several companies doing services.

Try Charles Frank of Glasgow, Kay Optical of London, or go on www.birdforum.net and see if anyone can advise of who can help.

hello, I think it would be fair to say Glasgow details are your best bet or try

might be able to assist?

Hi Mike,

Not local I'm afraid, but these guys (sorry dudes name escapes me at the moment) are very good.

I think Charles Frank shut in the 70's and now trades as Viking Optics at 101 Rose Street in Edinburgh, they use the Glasgow bunch for repairs.
