Stovie jr admires a Beaver's handiwork in an Algonquin backwater..

They are an incredible piece of engineering...the water level is 3ft higher on the upstream side...hence the reason we struggled with the water level further downstream... I believe locals breach the dams to improve the downstream flow of the rivers, though not particularly sure what their reasoning is...other than ease of paddling
